Well if you haven’t yet, everyone who ever has will lose no time in describing the romance of the endearing eccentricities that make Kolkata so unique. Whether it’s the ubiquitous cycle rickshaws or the good ol’ tram, the football frenzy, the delicious variety of ‘fishy’ dishes, the yellow taxis, the iconic Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial and so much more.
If you’ve been smitten by the Bengal bug already, fret not. For now you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing the best of Bengal right here in Bangalore! And as always, it’s The Zuri Whitefield that makes it possible. While Bangaloreans flocked in hordes to the Kerala Food Festival at this trendy luxury hotel during Onam, it is now time for The Bengal Food Festival. As we have now come to expect from The Zuri, The Bengal Food Festival promises to be nothing short of a truly memorable experience. The venue of course will be Kahwa, the inviting all-day-dining multi-cuisine restaurant set at the hotel lobby level. Adding to the ambience will be carvings and images of landmarks like the Howrah Bridge and Victoria Memorial, with real rickshaws jostling for space between depictions of the tram and taxis among many other things.
The highlight as always will be the delicious variety of Bengali delicacies! And for this The Zuri is also making special arrangements to fly in a fresh catch of hilsa, rahu, katla and bekti along with the chef right from the heart of the Bengali mainland! The sumptuous lunch and dinner buffets will be priced at Rs.550 and Rs.800 respectively. Diners can partake in the festivities with soothing Rabindra Sangeet, enjoy the melodious dance of the Rabindra Nritika and savour an unending variety of treats right from jhal muri, beguni, chanachur to posto, paaturi, muri ghonto, boris, street side rolls and chops to a quick phucka popping.
There’s no doubting the fact that this all-Bengali affair will see The Zuri flocked with diners all day long. Because, just short of being in Bengal itself, there hardly seems to be a better way to taste the best of everything Bengal right here in Bangalore. Shagotom everyone, let the festivities begin!
